Interesting facts i've learnt today:

1. Malaysia exports more than Australia, whose economy is 4 times larger.
2. Singaporeans are a talkative lot- the average resident engaged in almost 13 hours of idd calls in 2002.
(above info frm the A.T. Kearney/ Foreign Policy Globalisation Index. for more info, read today's STAR)

Other stray thoughts:
The EC (Election Commission) announced yesterday that nominations on Mar 13 and elections 21st. Thing is, its clashing with the f1 race...hmm mass mobilisation of voters, supporters plus formula1 spectators etc all on the same day, with NS trainees moving the next day too..fun...authorities are gonna have a fun time keeping track of everything..

Tesco. Thats another minor issue i'm following with interest. Seems the Puchong outlet started operating 24 hrs since tuesday, with 2 other outlets in the klang valley doing so soon. I'm just wondering who in the world does their grocery shopping in the middle of the night? are there actually enough customers to justify the extra op costs? Spokesperson says they've got approval, but i read online tht they've gotten 2 warnings in the past 24 hours to stop their 24/7 ops, in the interests of protecting small/local traders..
